Arrive at Guwahati and meet our representative at the airport. Transfer to Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya (approximately 3 hours by road). On your way, you will stop to visit Umiam Lake, also known as Barapani, a beautiful water body surrounded by lush green hills. After arriving in Shillong, check into your hotel and relax. In the evening, you can stroll around Police Bazar, Shillong’s famous shopping and food street.
After breakfast, head towards Laitlum Canyons, an off-the-beaten-path location near Shillong. Known for its breathtaking views and scenic landscapes, the place offers panoramic views of the valleys and hills. Afterward, visit the Elephant Falls, a beautiful three-tiered waterfall that is a must-see while in Shillong. Return to Shillong for an overnight stay.
In the morning, drive to Smit Village, a traditional Khasi village known for its culture and traditions. You will get a glimpse into the rural lifestyle and unique architecture of the Khasi people. Then, head to Mawphlang Sacred Forest, a nature reserve where the Khasi people believe the forest is sacred. This forest is rich in biodiversity and offers serene walking trails. Afterward, return to Shillong for the night.
After breakfast, proceed to Jowai, a town known for its rich history and natural beauty (approximately 2.5 hours from Shillong). Here, you will visit the famous Nartiang Monoliths, a collection of ancient megalithic stones that serve as a reminder of the traditional beliefs and practices of the Jaintia tribe. Next, explore the nearby Thadlaskein Lake, a tranquil spot surrounded by picturesque hills. After the tour, head back to Shillong for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Mawlynnong, Asia's cleanest village, located about 3 hours from Shillong. Stroll through the village to witness its cleanliness and charm, and visit the Living Root Bridge, a fascinating natural bridge formed by roots of trees. Spend time interacting with locals and exploring the pristine environment. Later, drive back to Guwahati for your departure.
